Nettleton- Vera Yvonne (Ratliff) Burroughs, 85, born to Trelvy & Leola (Montgomery) Ratliff on March 11, 1939 in MS. She received her ultimate healing on February 4, 2025. She married Jimmy Carroll Burroughs on February 8, 1955. They had two sons. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles, watching The Andy Griffith Show and sewing. One of her favorite pastimes was to ride her lawn mower, she loved to mow. She was an amazing seamstress who had sewn everything for everyone and their brother over the years from altering, making clothes, t-shirt quilts or even upholstery. If it could be or needed to be done she could and would do it. What she loved the most was making memories with her family. Her grands were great but her great grands were even greater! As she would say "That's why they're called that!"
Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with Rev. Justin Myers officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home.
She is survived by two sons, Ricky David Burroughs of Plantersville; Mark Carroll Burroughs (Angie) of Amory; four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one sister, Mauvolene Lovett of Brandon, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jimmy Carroll Burroughs (what a grand reunion that must have been), her parents, three brothers Eugene, Roger and Billy Joe Ratliff.
Pallbearers will be Jamison Parker, Isaac Ratliff, Phillip Hall, John Barnett, Branson Tennyson and Jon David Coker.
