Bill McGee

Hamilton-William Edward "Bill" McGee, 90, passed away on January 19, 2024 at his home in Hamilton. He was born in Giles County, TN on January 30, 1933 to parents Herman and Lillie Snow McGee. He grew up in Pulaski, TN. In 1965 he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Korea, Greenland and various other duty areas ending at Columbus Air Force Base, Columbus, MS but Hamilton, MS became home for Mr. McGee and his family. He retired from a civil service career as the Packing and Crafting Supervisor from Columbus Air Force Base. He completed his illustrious military career as a Master Sergeant (E-7) from the MS Air National Guard Base, Meridian, MS. He enjoyed softball with his four girls. In his later years he would be found playing golf, cards, going to the casino and playing Bingo at the American Legion. He was a member of the Mason Lodge and Shrine Club. He grew huge gardens to share with friends and raised lots of cattle. He enjoyed his visits to the Huddle House and Pickles always followed by a Wal-Mart trip. There were never any leaves or sticks to be found in the yard.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, January 26th, 2024 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen with Dr. David Hamilton officiating. Burial will be at Center Hill Cemetery in Hamilton.

He is survived by his daughters Bernay McGee, Karen Gibbs, Betty Jo Graves (Brian) and Dr. BIllie Sue Hardy (Troy), one sister, Sandra Wasson, grandchildren, Dr. Jordan Camp (Christina), Lacey Watson, Joel Camp, Melea Matlock (Jonathan), Emily Bass (Robert), Mallory Smith, Casey Lindsey (Zach), Adessa Gibbs, great-grandchildren, Thomas Watson, Haley Moore, Noah Moore, Sadie Bass, Wyatt Holland, Eli Smith, Garrett Smith, Eden Bass, Madelyn Lindsey and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith H. McGee, brothers Robert McGee, Leon McGee, J.C. McGee, Thomas McGee, grandson Brian Malone and son-in-law Bo Gibbs.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Tisdale-Lann Memorail Funeral Home in Aberdeen.

Pallbearers will be Steve Harmon, Tony Dykes, Troy Hardy, Thomas Grady Watson, Joel Camp, John Quinn and Robert Bass.
