William “Billy” Harrington, 77, died Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo, MS following a 17 year battle with cancer. He was born March 30, 1942, in Hattiesburg, MS. To Henry Clayton Harrington and Madge Brannan Harrington. He graduated from Aberdeen High School, attended college and was in the first graduating class at the LSU School of Banking. He was a Banker for BancorpSouth. Mr. Harrington participated in Meals on Wheels, the Casserole Kitchen and the Cooking team at his church. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Starkville.
Survivors include his wife Brenda Kirkpatrick Harrington of Starkville, MS; two sons Hays Brannan Harrington (Melina) of Phoenix, AZ and Reed Halbert Harrington (Yancey) of Brandon, MS; one daughter-in-law Laurie Harrington of Brandon, MS, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one son and an infant daughter. Pallbearers will be David Cheatham, Britt Goodin, Jeremy Tabor, Austin Hipps, Roger Caperton, and William Harrington.
There will be a private graveside at Oddfellows Rest Cemetery in Aberdeen.
Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 11, 2020, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Starkville.
