Walter Francis Dye

Walter Francis Dye, 80, died Thursday, December 27, 2018 at his residence in Aberdeen after a brief illness. He was born September 13, 1938 in Union County, MS to the late Gurney L. Dye and Christine Grissom Dye. He grew up in Ellistown, MS and graduated from Cedar Hill Highschool. He moved to Tupelo where he was employed by Comfort Engineering for 44 years. After retiring, he moved to Aberdeen, MS where he assumed a position at the T.G. Abernathy Federal Courthouse and worked there 10 years as maintenance supervisor. He served in the United States National Guard Army Reserve as a medical specialist. He loved the outdoors and took pride in his yard. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church in Aberdeen since 1999. Survivors include his wife of 21 years Shirley Ann Dye of Aberdeen, MS; one son Jimmy D. Dye (Donna) of Saltillo, MS; two stepchildren Hunter L. Foster and Michelle Flint; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; one brother John D. Dye (Saundra) of Tupelo, MS; one sister Mary J. Threadgill (Charles) of Summerville, TN and a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Charles L. Dye and William G. Dye.
