Vicki Jefferson Barnes

Vicki Jefferson Barnes, 60, passed away at her residence on Thursday, May 26, 2022.  She was born in Starkville in May 4, 1962 to the late Ward Jefferson and Judy Anno Ruth.  Vicki graduated from Vaughn’s Beauty College in 1985, LPN School at Bevill State Community college and earned her BSN from Northeast Community College in 1999.  Vicki was both an accomplished beautician and loving nurse and caregiver.  She nursed at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory and lastly at Pioneer Hospital in Aberdeen.  Vicki dearly loved both her customers at the salon and her patients.  She enjoyed writing poetry, painting, collecting antiques and other unique treasures.  She was also an excellent cook.  

She is survived by her daughters, Penny Taylor (Ivan), Hamilton, Beth Shields, Hamilton and Crystal Barnes Gazaway (Anthony), Hamilton; son, Robbie Ross (Tina), Athens Community; sister, Patricia Jefferson Ray (Kenny), Caledonia; brothers, Tyrone Jefferson (Deborah), Smithville and Eddie Ruth (Missy), Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Jay’Cob Barden, Justin Taylor, Austin Taylor, Branson Shields, Kameron Shields, Kealy Shields, Ethan Gazaway, Zane Shields, Kaleb Ross, Kayleigh Ross, Aubrey Ross and Hattie Gazaway; great grandchildren, Cody McCallum, Imma Barden, Eli Zimmerman, Lonni Barden and Gray Barden; special; friend, Lacee Marich; a host of nieces and nephews and her longtime companion and furbaby, Lucy of 16 years. 

In addition to her parents, Vicki is preceded in death by a sister, Denise Smith and brother, Delaine Jefferson.  

A memorial service will be held at 6 PM on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Tisdale Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Bro. Dewayne Warren and Bro. Jesse Betts officiating.  Inurnment will be in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery.  

Visitation will be prior to the service on Tuesday from 4 PM until 5:45 PM.
