Toni Jo Gunter

Toni Jo Molero Gunter, 71, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus. She was born in New Orleans on November 16, 1949 to the late Anthony and Marjorie Mennesse Molero. She grew up in Ycolosky, LA and married Wayne Gunter in 1985. Toni was a hairdresser for many years and she deeply loved her job and clients. Toni was gifted with her hands and she enjoyed any kind of crafting, especially sewing. She was also a wonderful cook. Being the spouse of a Vietnam Veteran, she was deeply devoted to our veterans and troops, especially their spouses and children. She was a member of the American Legion. She also loved children and looked forward to sending Santa Letters at Christmas. Above all, she loved God and it was her faith in Him that guided her life. She was a member of Hamilton Church of God of Prophecy.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Gunter, Hamilton; daughters, Sabrina Gunter Morales (David), Pearl River, LA and Rachel Gunter (Jeremy Boykin), Columbus; sister, Cynthia “Teta” Kramer, Slidell, LA; 8 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Molero.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Hamilton Church of God of Prophecy with Bro. Billy Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in McDuffa Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Gunter, Jack Gunter, David Morales, Jeremy Boykin, Ryan Kramer and Steven Roberts.

Visitation will be prior to the service on Wednesday at the church from 11 AM until 12:45 PM.
