Nettleton- Steven Lee Hodges, 64, passed away from a two year long battle with cancer and met the arms of Jesus on March 18, 2023 at his home in Nettleton surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born on May 24, 1958 in Lawton, Oklahoma to parents L. Q. Hodges and Peggy Jackson Hodges. Steve graduated from the Nettleton School District. While there he played football and enjoyed taking part in the drama club. He loved to go fishing. He attended ICC for a year and a half. After leaving ICC he started his LONG career with Bancorpsouth (now Cadence Bank) of 42 years where he started in collections, moved to being over the bank vault for 25 years and then moved into BSA. He met the love of his life in 1979 while attending a friends wedding. He married Regina Gray of Tishomingo on October 5, 1980 she was his rock throughout their marriage. They had two sons Neal born in 1984 and Jordan born in 1990. Steve gave his life to Jesus as a teenager and was baptized. He was a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church much of his life and is now a member of Crosspointe Fellowship Church.
Funeral services will be at Crosspointe Fellowship Church in Nettleton on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Bro. Tommy Ray Dabbs, Bro. Gary Cosby and Bro. Jeff Martin officiating. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Nettleton will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife Regina Gray Hodges, two sons, Neal Hodges (Stacy), Jordan Hodges (Claudia), mother, Peggy Hodges, sister, Rhonda Rogers (Don), two grandchildren, Blaze and Natalie and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, L. Q. Hodges, his maternal grandparents, Charlie and Bessie Jackson and paternal grandparents, Columbus and Ira Hodges.
Pallbearers will be Mike Barber, Bobby Sprayberry, Robert Lee, Robert Teague, Buddy Ritter and David Parker.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Bill Jones.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 11:00-2:00 pm at the church.
