Shirley Whitlock

Shirley Jean Whitaker Whitlock,76, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. She was born on March 5, 1948 in Monroe County to Clarence and Viola Hawkins Whitaker. She graduated from Hamilton High School, and she was a dog groomer for many years. She had a great passion for animals and rescued no telling how many over the years. She enjoyed tending to her yard and gardening. 

 Funeral Service will be at 11 AM Friday, January 17, 2025 in the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen.She will be buried in Greenbrier Cemetery.

 She is survived by her stepson, Terry Whitlock, Amory; brothers, Sonny Whitaker (Marie), Amory and Jerry Whitaker (Linda), Hamilton; sisters, Sarah Mattison (Winford) of Columbus; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

 She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Frances Stokes and Ola Mae Smith.
