Sarah Kathryn Bradley was born on 2/27/27. She had three brothers and two sisters that she loved, and lost. Her dad passed away when she was 8 years old, so she was close to her mom until she lost her in 1969. Sarah Kathryn met Walter Ferrell Wilemon in 1945, and apparently (as she tells it) she agreed to marry him after he got her fired for coming to talk her so much while she was working. “Kat” and Ferrell married on June 1, 1946. They had a son, Tommy, in 1948 and a daughter, Kathy, in 1953. Their mutual love of animals meant they also raised dozens of needy dogs and cats over the years. They created a loving home, not only for their children and grandchildren but for everyone. Whoever you were, when you were at their house, you were home. Along the way, Sarah Kathryn managed to find some time to open and manage her own business. She was devoted to her family, friends, and church. She was an expert seamstress, favorite church choir tour chaperone, a charter member of the hospital auxiliary, lover of football and golf, maker of the world’s best divinity, and a dedicated believer in Friday night at the fish house. Sarah Kathryn will be missed dearly by the friends and family she leaves behind, but she will be greeted in heaven by her husband and the many loved ones who preceded her.
