Aberdeen

Roger Thompson Gillentine, 76, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born on January 23, 1948 in Amory, he was a son to Orbie Leon and Martha Beatrice “Tootsie” Thompson Gillentine. He married the former Mary Barnes on December 23, 1965, and prior to his retirement, he was a truck driver for Bryan Bros. Foods for 30 years. He enjoyed riding horses when he was able, and he also raised miniature horses. He liked being out on his place whether it was feeding the chickens, his catfish, or working on an old car. He took great pride in whatever he put his hand to and kept an immaculate yard. He attended Pleasant Grove Church of God of Prophecy and was instrumental in keeping the grounds beautiful. He was an avid fan of Ole Miss and the New Orleans Saints, but above all, he loved playing with his grandchildren.
