Ray Gallop, 79, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, August 5, 2024. Ray was born in Aberdeen on June 13, 1945 to the late JD and Polly Pigford Gallop. He was a graduate of Amory High School and married Sandra Davis in 1971. Ray was a proud life long resident of Wren and even more proud of being a 3rd generation Dairy Farmer. He worked hard at the farm, enjoying every moment of his life. Ray Gallop and Son's Dairy still proudly exist as a 4th generation Dairy Farm. Ray enjoyed his nightly phone visits with his brother, Jason. He also enjoyed talking farming and other interest's with fellow dairy farmers, Bradley Taylor, Jeremy Graham, Mike Ferguson and Charles Fullerton. Ray loved being with his family and was a loving paw paw to his grandchildren. More than anything, Ray was a devoted Christian and his faith was the rule and guide for his life. He was a faithful member of Meadowood Baptist Church in Amory and had served as a deacon in the past in other churches.
Ray is survived by his wife, Sandra Gallop, Wren; sons, Patrick Gallop (Stephanie), Wren and MJ Gallop (Nathan Jones), Houston, TX; brother, Jason Gallop, Amory; grandchildren, Lauren and Lillian Gallop, Carl and Faith Gallop; nieces and nephews, Jaye Manning (Mike), Hal Morgan (Leslie), Steve Gallop, Bob Scott (Sally), Mitch Scott (Jim Anne) and Lynn Renfro; his beloved dog, Sissy.
