Orene Lockhart Hamilton 96, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at the Whitfield Nursing Home in Corinth, MS. She was born October 9, 1922, in the Bartahatchie Community to Edward and Maude Lockhart. She lived in the Bartahatchie Community for 87 years. Due to failing health, she moved to Corinth where she resided with her daughter Peggy Collins and her family. She attended Bartahatchie School and graduated from Greenwood Springs High School. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and served on various boards. She worked publicly for Beneke Corporation for 36 years. She married the love of her life Bolin Hamilton and they bore one daughter Peggy. After 70 years and 7 days, Bolin was called home to be with the Lord, Now, Orene has rejoined him with that same Lord. Survivors include her daughter Peggy ( Richard Granville) Collins of Corinth, MS, one grandson, Grant (Priscilla) Collins of Tupelo, MS, a great-granddaughter Graci Collins and a great-grandson Peyton Collins, both of Tupelo, Ms., a sister-in-law Mary Hamilton of Phoenix City, Al and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bolin Hamilton and one brother, J. C. Lockhart. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Springfield, Kevin Springfield, Johnny Hamilton, Billy Hamilton, Tony Bailey, and Pallas Fair. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dan West, James Springfield, Billy McLemore, and Greg Ross.
