Nina Morgan

Nina Lee Roberts Morgan, 82, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center—Gilmore in Amory.  She was born on New Years, January 1, 1942 in Monroe County to Denton Green, Sr. and Mamie Kelso Roberts.  She was a 1960 graduate of Aberdeen High School.  Nina was a lifelong resident of Monroe County and she was the co-owner of Faye-Lee Fashions along with sister-in-law Barbara Roberts, for many years. She was a former member of the Aberdeen Junior Auxiliary and Aberdeen Garden Club. She cherished her memories and fellowship at the Aberdeen Country Club where she loved playing golf, bridge and dominoes. Nina also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and for those that would sit still, she taught them to write recipes, cook and play piano.  After her retirement from the clothing business she operated her home business, it was her love for gardening that she opened Daylily Haven and Iris Gardens.

Private funeral services will be on Monday at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the New Hope (Coontail) Cemetery. 

She is survived by three sons, Steven Edward Coker (Geneva), Kenny Coker (Tonya), David Coker; one stepdaughter, Laura Morgan; one step daughter -in -law Shelly Morgan;  10 grandchildren, Corey Gill (Kim), Josh Coker, Drew Coker (Anna), Brittany Murphy (Ben), Kenneth Coker (Lexie), Elizabeth Coker, Maggie Coker, Katie Coker, Kasey Coker, Shannon Coker; 3 step grandchildren, Johnny Haney (Brandy), Dixie Morgan, and Buck Morgan; 9 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Joe Dan Roberts and David Roberts; two sisters, Mary Ann Pope and Becky Worlow; sisters-in-law, JoNell Roberts, Barbara Roberts, Debbie Roberts; Sue Roberts and brother-in-law, James Pope. Special caregivers, Genann Jones, Mary Dobbs, Dora Cunningham, Reshanda Walters, Marcella Morrow, Peaches Reese, Kim Walters and Patricia Walker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilbert Morgan; stepson, Keith Morgan;  two brothers, Gene Roberts and Denton Roberts; and brother-in-law, Charles Worlow; brother and sisters-in-law, Emory A Morgan (Becky), Berta Morgan Armstrong (Buddy), Joe David Morgan (Lynn), and Sidney Morgan (Ann).

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
