Monica Russell Blanton, age 82, died Sunday, July 19, 2020, at her daughter’s residence in Sugar Hill, Georgia. She was born July 9, 1938, to L. D. Russell and Geneva Wakefield Russell in Prairie Point, MS. She was a graduate of Brooksville High School. She lived in Hamilton for the last fifty years where she was a homemaker and a member of Center Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Oliver (Lonnie) of Sugar Hill, GA and Mary Steele (Richard) of Comanchee, OK; two sons, Kenneth Blanton (Amanda) of Hamilton, MS, and Keith Blanton of Comanchee, OK; one sister, Jan Little (Tom) of High Shoals, GA; one brother, Buddy Russell (Shirley) of Ridgeland, MS; seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Trellis N. Blanton; one brother, Butch Russell; one granddaughter and two great grandsons.
