Minnie Nell Baggett Rea, age 88, died Friday, September 22, 2023 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born April 13, 1935 to William Isaac Boyd and Ethel O’Vera Clearmon Boyd in Hamilton, MS. She was a lifelong resident of Hamilton and dearly loved her community. Minnie Nell was a great cook and was often found delivering a cake that was absolutely baked with love to her friends in the community. She retired from Kerr-McGee Chemical as an operator. Minnie Nell was a lifelong member of Center Hill Baptist Church that she loved so much. She loved to watch football, especially when Tom Brady was playing.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Center Hill Baptist Church in Hamilton with Bro. Terry Edwards and Bro. Dennis Smithey officiating. Burial will be in Center Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Lonnie D. Rea of Hamilton, MS; one daughter, Sandra Kay Guest (Robert) of West Point, MS; one son, Charles Wayne Baggett (Jo Ruth) of Hamilton, MS; one sister, Ludie Bell Wollen of Amory, MS; one brother, William Dennis Boyd of Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren, Anthony Baggett of Tupelo, MS, Eric Baggett of New York, Ny, Aimee Brake (Jason) of Nashville, TN, Brandon Baggett (Jackie) of Hamilton, MS, Barrett Baggett, (Lesly) of Hamilton, MS, Britney Elfring (Kevin) of Hamilton, MS, Nickie Andresen (Howard) of Kansas City, MO; fourteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; special nieces and nephews, Barbara Evans, Cindy Selfring, John Boyd, and Debra Morris.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Loyd Buck Baggett; one son, Loyd Baggett; four grandsons, James Isaac Guest, Robert Lee Guest, twins, Michael and Monty Baggett; two brothers, Howell Wayne Boyd and Clarence Bailey Boyd.
Pallbearers are Brandon Baggett, Barrett Baggett, Anthony Baggett, Nathan Corbell, Josh Corbell, Zakk Smith, and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Center Hill Baptist Church in Hamilton.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research or your favorite charity.
