Michael Mitchell

Michael Allen Mitchell, 44, of Hamilton went home to his heavenly Father on Thursday, September 19, 2024. He was born on November 30, 1979 in Aberdeen to Lige L. Mitchell and Jeanette Hill Mitchell of Hamilton. Michael was a graduate of Hamilton High School class of 1998 and furthered his education at Itawamba Community College. He obtained his massage therapy license but later worked alongside his father at the family business, Mitch’s Gun Shop. Michael had a heart of gold along with a witty personality. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, boating, playing golf, and watching his son play baseball. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2024 at Center Hill Baptist Church with Bro. James Towery and Bro. Dennis Smithey officiating. Burial will follow in the Oddfellows Rest Cemetery. 

He is survived by his father and mother, Lige L. Mitchell and Jeanette Hill Mitchell of Hamilton; his sister, April Mitchell of Aberdeen; two precious children, Joseph Kayde Mitchell and Kaylee Marie Mitchell both of Hamilton; his nephew, Gregory Daniel Miller of Hamilton; and his great dane, Maggie. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lige R. and Helen Weeks Mitchell; Howard and Jimmie Nell Ausborn Hill; sister, Michelle Lee Mitchell; niece, Jessica Katherine Miller; and nephew, David Lee Miller.

Pallbearers will be Paul Alsup, Richard Bean, Cory Chism, Morgan Clark, Foster Lindsey, Felix Montes, Terry Roberts, and Steven Truelove. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Boozer, Drew Toler, John Toler, Kenneth Toler, Todd Toler, and Tony Toler.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service time at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gideons’ International or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
