Mary Allen Walters

Mary Allen Walters, 96, passed away April 11, 2025, at her home in Lake St. Louis, MO. She was born July 16, 1928 in Woodland Mills, TN to Annie Allison Allen and Duffy B. Allen, Sr.

Mary graduated from Aberdeen MS High School in 1946. She later moved to Memphis, TN where she lived for 57 years, She was an active member of the Memphis First Baptist Church , where she especially enjoyed leading the Senior Game Day. She retired form Memphis Light Gas & Water after 35 years of service.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 19, 2025, 2 pm in the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen. Rev. David Harrell will be officiating. Burial will be in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery.

Visitation will be prior to service from 1-2 pm at the funeral home.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Jim) Slee of Foley, MO; her grandchildren, Heather Slee & James (Natalie) Slee, Jr., of St. Charles, MO; great granddaughters, Trinity, Mikayla, Corrine & Charlotte; many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Mayfield Allen and Duffy B. Allen, Jr.; sisters Ann'Ola Herndon & Martha Harlow; and the love of her life, Tommie B. Walters.

Mary believed the best memorials were those that helped others. She was a longtime supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude or a charity of the donor's choice.
