Martha Annette Graham Bishop, 89, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 at her son’s home in Booneville. Born in Itawamba County on March 3, 1936, she was a daughter to Paul Jennings and Myrtle Gregory Graham. She lived most of her life in the Nettleton area and worked as a bookkeeper for many years prior to her retirement. She was the widow of Earnest “Dick” Bishop to whom she was married for 55 years. Baptist in faith, she loved her family fiercely and looked forward to reunions, picnics, or just visiting. She enjoyed anything sweet, and her hobbies included playing piano, crocheting, sewing, and cross stitching. In addition, she liked gardening and canning her vegetables, reading, and word search puzzles.
Funeral services will be at Noon on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Nettleton with Pastor Marty Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Nettleton Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Keith Bishop (Janice) and Craig Bishop (Michelle); one daughter, Patti Bishop Barber; one sister, Betty Laney (Jackie); sister-in-law, Jane Graham; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and special friend, Cheryl Burress.
Preceding her in death are her parents; one son, Tim Bishop; one daughter-in-law, Johnnie Bishop and her husband, Earnest “Dick” Bishop; four siblings, Mary Paul Graham, Ronald Graham, Sandra Young, and Dan Graham; and great grandchild, Zayda Grace.
Pallbearers will be Chad Bishop, Christopher Bryan, Jourdan Skelton, Joshua Bishop, Aidan Pettigrew, and Avery Pettigrew. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Lockett, Graham Bishop, Brentley Moore, John Austin Pettigrew, and Landon Skelton.
Visitation will be on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the service hour.
Memorials may be made to the Gideons International.
