Margaret Mattox

Nettleton- Margaret Marie Horton Mattox, 90,  passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024 at her residence in Nettleton. She was born in Itawamba County on August 27, 1934 to parents George Newman Horton and Lela Estelle Fowler Horton. She was a retired factory worker and homemaker. She was a member of the Sherman Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, attending church and spending time with her family. Prior to attending Sherman Pentecostal Church she was a faithful member of the Evergreen Church of the Lord Jesus Christ where she was the song leader and church secretary since 1976.

She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Louis Mattox, Harold Keith Mattox, Norman Matthew Mattox (Shelia), grandchildren, Newman Mattox, James Paul Mattox, Brandy Mattox, Christopher Ivy, Dustin Charles Collier, Lashaya Marie Collier, Heather Brooke Mattox, seven great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and loyal friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 26, 2024 from 11:00-1:00 pm at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Netttleon.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 26, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Norman Mattox officiating. Burial will be in Keys Cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harley Ellis Mattox Sr,  two sons, Harley Ellis Mattox Jr, George Clayburn Mattox, one daughter, Arlinda Gail Mattox and one grandson, Jesse James Mattox.
