Lucille (Bebe) Roy Morris died Saturday, May 27, 2023 in Baton Rouge with Mike and his family comforting her. She was born July 4, 1926 to Saul Oliver and Ada Short Roy in Columbus, MS.
She grew up in Columbus, MS, where she attended Franklin Academy and Stephen D. Lee High School. The first year of college she spent at Sullins College but she returned to Columbus to graduate from MSCW in bacteriology.
After marrying Earle Morris and moving to Aberdeen, they spent 43 years together until Earle died in 1991. She continued to live in their home supported by her neighbors and her church family at Faith Presbyterian Church into 2008. At that time, she transitioned to living with daughter Linda and husband Jack in Old Hickory TN. In 2014 she moved into Amber Terrace/Holly Court in Baton Rouge near her son, Mike, and his family. She spent the last several weeks at the Clarity Hospice’s inpatient facility, The Crossing.
She loved her family, church family, friends from over her lifetime and they all loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Clara and brother Rob. Clara was born six years earlier on the very same day. Rob, almost two years older than Bebe lovingly gave her this nickname, trying to call her baby and it stuck, just like the love he and Clara showed her throughout her life.
Survivors include Cindy (Glenn) Harrison, Linda (Jack) Brown, Mike (Lisa) Morris, and Susan Morris. Grandchildren are Lori Morris, Becky (Kris) Davis, Rachel Morris, Melissa (Michael) Loberg. Great-grandchildren are Madyson Davis, Gabe Davis, Autumn Davis, McKinley Loberg, Kai Loberg, Ella Duplessis, and Natalie Morris.
Services are set for 11AM Saturday June 3 at Tisdale-Lann Funeral Home in Aberdeen, with David Harrell officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service, at 10AM. The family offers special thanks to the Clarity Hospice employees for such tender care for Bebe during the final weeks. In Lieu of flowers, any contributions may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church of Aberdeen.
