Lewis C. Ausbon, 79, passed away on February 26, 2019, at North MS Medical Center Hospice after an extended illness in Tupelo. He was born on April 8, 1939, in Tupelo to Luke Lewis and Rebecca Mullins Ausbon. Lewis was a native of Nettleton, was a retired tool and die Machinist for Super Sagless in Tupelo, and was a member of the Nettleton First Baptist Church. He was a former staff sergeant in the MS Army National Guard, having served during the Oxford Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia McBride Ausbon of Nettleton; two daughters, Terry Anderson (Mark) of Maryville, TN and Denise Harris of Nettleton; one son, Carlton Ausbon (Barbara) of Nettleton; one brother, Joe Ausbon of Nettleton; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family wishes to thank the doctors & staff at N.M.M.C. Hospice for all the care and compassion through a difficult time. A special thanks goes out to Dr. Ken Harvey & his staff for 33 years of service.
