Larry Wayne Griffin

Jackson, TN- Larry Wayne Griffin, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2024 at his residence in Jackson, TN. He was born on June 22, 1953 in Tupelo, MS to parents Albert and Bessie Morrow Griffin. He grew up in Tupelo, MS. Larry graduated from Itawamba Community College with an associates degree. He was a member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Nettleton. Before his retirement he was the General Manager for Belk and JC Penny's. Larry was an avid GI Joe enthusiast, he loved collecting GI Joe memorabilia and he loved to build GI Joe buildings. He also enjoyed wood working, watching television especially westerns and sports.

Funeral services will be on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Tisdale-Lann Memoarial Funeral Home in Aberdeen ,MS  with Rev. Larry Shannon officiating. Burial will be at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Nettleton. 

He is survived by his wife, Debra Griffin of Jackson, TN; step-daughter, Nicole Schleuning of Jackson, TN; step-son, Raymond Schleuning of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Angela Griffin of Jackson, MS; six step-grandchildren, Darrion Trice, Tyrese Trice, Marlon Beauregard Jr., Javan Schleuning, Sierra Schleuning, Tyler Schleuning; five step-great grandchildren, Kinsley Trice, Tyrese Trice Jr., Denver Trice, Devyn Trice and Dallas Trice.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Tyrese Trice, Darrion Trice, Raymond Schleuning, Javan Schleuning, Tyler Schleuning and Marlon Beauregard Jr.
