Nettleton-Kinloch Brown, 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis, TN. She was born in Monroe County on August 23, 1933 to parents William S. Shumpert and Ruth Kinloch (Wesson) Shumpert. She was a lifelong resident of Nettleton. She was member of Nettleton First Baptist Church, before her death she held the title of the oldest living member. She enjoyed working in her yard, traveling, loved going to church and also loved her precious dog Lexie.
Funeral services will be at Nettleton First Baptist Church on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bradley Geno officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park in Verona. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Nettleton will be in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by one son, William L. Payne (Patricia), one daughter, Debbie Morris (Larry), three grandchildren, Samuel Connor Payne (Blake), Andrea Kirk (Scott), Leslie Black (Paul), seven great grandchildren, Madison Kirk, Mallory Kirk, Jack Kirk, Eli Black, Darby Renfro, Dylan Black, Carson Renfro, two nieces, Phyliss Wigginton, Ann Beasley, three sister-in-laws, Catherline Payne, Nancy Payne, Diane Payne and one brother-in-law Jimmy Payne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Sammy Joe Payne, second husband, Henry Brown, one brother Billy Shumpert, two sisters, Virginia Dykstra, Christine Shumpert, two brother-in-laws, Bitsy Payne, Roland McDaniel and one sister-in-law Johnnie Faye McDaniel.
Pallbearers will be Jack Kirk, Eli Black, Dylan Black, Carson Renfro, Ryan Payne and Lance Payne.
Visitation will be on Sunday one hour prior to service from 1:00-2:00 pm at the church.
