June Cline Walker

June Cline Walker went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 29, 2023 in Houston, TX. She was born June 5, 1938 in Conover, NC. Her mother, Fannie Gilbert Minton, raised her in a loving home. She attended Concordia Lutheran Day School and Newton Conover High School. June was a bright and conscientious student and was raised in the Lutheran Church. She studied x-ray at Charlotte Memorial Hospital’s School for X-Ray Technicians where she continued working until she met her husband, William (Bill) Mort Walker. They were married July 28, 1962 at Ascension Lutheran Church in Charlotte, NC. After their wedding, they resided in Atlanta, GA. She continued working in x-ray for a short time until her daughter, Judy was born. She was a devoted wife and mother. Due to a job opportunity, a move was made to Charlotte, NC. June was a fashion model for the Belk Coat Company. The family was later transferred to Houston, TX. where she and her family have resided for 50 years. She continued her career in x-ray working for a number of doctors and orthopedists in the local area and retired with KSF after 20 plus years. She made many friends during her employment. June and her family have been members of Northwoods Presbyterian Church since 1974. She has enjoyed attending Sunday school, church and being part of the Northwoods family. She and her family have enjoyed trips to Europe, ballroom dancing and square dancing where she made many wonderful friends. June is survived by her husband Bill and daughter Judy. The family is so grateful for the support, help and assistance during mother’s illness. She was a beautiful lady and the sunshine in our days. June will be truly missed by her family and friends. Thank you Mother for your wisdom, love, prayers and devotion to God, Daddy and myself. We will always love you.

After a Celebration of Life Service, June will be buried at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Aberdeen, MS on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mary Hutson officiating.  A reception will follow the graveside service at First United Methodist Church of Aberdeen.
