Judy Warren

Jewel Faye Pate Warren, 64, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.  Known as “Judy” or “JuJu,” to many, she was born on September 30, 1959 to Dallas and Irma Patterson Pate.  She was a lifelong resident of Nettleton and she was married to the love of her life, Donald Warren for the past 11 years.  She drove a school bus for the Nettleton School District for many years, but she also worked at Happy Hearts Daycare in Nettleton for the past 15 years.  She attended South Nettleton Baptist Church, and she loved spending time with her family, going out to eat, or visiting Geyser Falls.  In addition, she enjoyed the beach or out riding with Donald on his motorcycle, but her greatest joy was to safely deliver children to school on Bus No. 9 and loving on her babies at Happy Hearts.  

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with Rev. Jeffrey Adams and Bro. Quay Criddle officiating.  Burial will follow in the Jones Chapel Cemetery.

In addition to her husband, Donald Warren, she is survived by her mother, Irma Pate of Nettleton; 4 grandchildren, Katie Hester, Blake Hester (Randi), Justin Hester (Jasmine), and Brady Hester (Marlie); one great granddaughter, Olivia Kate Hester; two sisters, Vicki Nanney (Mark), and Kathy James (Rickey); two brothers, Roger Pate (Sherie) and W.D. Pate; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; daughter-in-law, Beverly Hester; and mother-in-law, Frances Warren.

She was preceded in death by her father and by her son, Chris Hester.

Pallbearers will be Justin Hester, Brady Hester, Blake Hester, Eric James, Channing Nanney, Peyton Nanney, Scott Pate, Keith Pate, Braxton Pate, Cody Pate, Tyler Finley, and Devan Hester.  Honorary pallbearers will be her Happy Hearts babies and the school children of Bus No. 9.

Visitation will be on Monday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home in Nettleton and from 10 until service time on Tuesday.
