Nettleton-Johnny Murl Langley , 76, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at his residence in Nettleton surrounded by family and friends for whom he loved dearly. He was born on September 17, 1945 to parents Charlie Langley and Alice Gertrude (Garrett) Langley. He was a lifelong resident of Nettleton. Murl served his country proudly in the United States Army in Korea during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting, riding his side by side, watching Western movies and wrestling on tv. He was a member of the Nettleton Club Land. The joy of his life was spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be at the Nettleton First Baptist Church on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Bradley Geno and Bro. Donald Pounders officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Dianne (Scribner) Langley, two daughters, Kristy Scruggs (Richard), Ginger Green (Chris), one sister, Mary Elizabeth Kennedy, five grandchildren, Cody Dickerson, Dylan Scruggs (Taylor), Brayden Scruggs, Bella Scruggs, Karmen Dickerson, six great grandchildren, Jasper, Shiloh, Ansley, Ruger, Casen, Myla Pearl, and a host of nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Allen and Jimmy Langley, two sisters Charlene Forrester and Minnie Jane Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Cody Dickerson, Dylan Scruggs, Brayden Scruggs, Marty Langley, Richard Scruggs, Chris Green.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 11, from 5:00-7:00 at the Nettleton First Baptist Church and on Friday, November 12, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the church.
