Jimmy Coggin

Jimmy Wayne Coggin, 73, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at his residence in Nettleton.  Born in Lee County on May 7, 1950, he was a son to Charles Benford and Eunice Mae Smith Coggin.   Lifelong resident of Nettleton, he worked many years in the garment industry in maintenance before retiring.  He enjoyed farming, riding horses, fishing, and hunting.  He was a member of the Nettleton Church of Christ. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with Bro. Patrick Starr officiating.  Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery.  

He is survived by one son, Scott Coggin (Jessica); one daughter, Jennifer Buchanan (Doug); 9 grandchildren, Mikayla King, Marlin Marble, Alexzandra Coggin, David Coggin, Savannah Coggin, Polito Rojas, Ariana Lucero, Izabella Lucero, and Stephanie Lucero; 2 great grandchildren; one sister, Linda Randle; and sister-in-law, Linda Coggin. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bobby Joe Coggin; and grandson, Ethan Scott Priest Coggin.

Pallbearers will be Preston Stults, Chris Malone, Jack Buchanan, Clay Mitchell, Sam Ball, and Brad Williams. 

Visitation will be on Monday from noon until the service time at the funeral home.
