J. B. Carter, 89 died Monday, November 5, 2018 at his residence in Hamilton. He was born January 12, 1929 in Highmond, Alabama to Robert Sylvester Carter and Leta Hill Carter. He was retired from the United States Air Force after serving 23 years. He served in Korea and Vietnam. He worked twenty years for Woodman of the World. He had lived in Hamilton since 1965. He was a member of the Hamilton church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of 67 years Mary DuBose Carter; one daughter Glenda Owen (Kenneth) of Bells, Texas and daughter by heart Peggie House of Hamilton, MS; three sons Phillip Carter of Savoy, Texas, Jerome Carter (Myra) of Becker, MS and Timothy Carter (Phyllis) also of Becker, MS; one sister Faye Tessman (Larry) of Joppa, Alabama; two brothers Robert Carter (Yvonne) and Clyde Carter (Dorris) both of Joppa, Alabama; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Teresa Ford and one grandchild Jacob Carter.
