Glenda Faye Wardlaw Finley 81, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Sanctary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born on October 7, 1941 to Howard and Ovie Cook Wardlaw. She lived most of her life in Nettleton and she was a homemaker. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Nettleton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Nettleton with Bro. Ricky Pierce and Bro. Carroll Pettigrew officiating. Burial will follow in the Amory Masonic Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Royce Finley; one son, Ricky Finley (Rhonda); 5 grandchildren, Kyle Finely (Courtney), Clay Finley (Blair), Halie Brooke Finley, Lindsey Joanna Finley, and Tyler Cole Finley; 9 great grandchildren, Mary Addison Finley, William Hudson Finley; Abigail Reese Finley, Anna Caroline Finley, Leigh Ellis Finley, Finley Scout Ray, Silas Asher Ray, Ava Lyn Jones, and Riley Renee Murray; one sister, Cynthia Wardlaw Smith (Frank, Sr.); and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son Andrew Todd Finley; and 6 siblings, Geneva Wardlaw Fowlkes, Marcelle Wardlaw Riddle, William “Pete” Wardlaw, Bobby Wardlaw, Betty Wardlaw Burdine, and Eddie Wardlaw.
Pallbearers will be Brian Warren, Jason Warren, Robert Wardlaw, John Wardlaw, Ken Harlow, Frank Smith, Jr., Brian Smith, and Greg Burdine. Tim Fowlkes will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo.
