Gayle Bishop

Gayle Elizabeth Davie Bishop, age 85, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2022 in Aberdeen Mississippi. She was born August 18, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan. Ms. Bishop is predeceased by her loving grandchild, Jonathan Vallat and is survived by her three daughters; Leigh Bernheim Bloom (Stuart Bloom), Toni Bernheim Reece (Earnest Reece), and Mindy Bernheim Vallat (Laurent Vallet). She is lovingly remembered as “mema” by her 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Gayle graduated from the University of Alabama’s nursing program and was a practicing nurse for 57 years, where she served the states of Alabama, New York, Florida and the Middle-Eastern country of Saudi Arabia. Aside from her nursing talents, Gayle was a gifted story-teller and always knew just what to say to make you laugh (or gasp). She will be remembered for her fine stories, her long acrylic nails, and her extraordinary work ethic.

Memorial services will be decided on at a later date and the Reece family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this period of bereavement.
