Frank Howell Cockerham, Jr., 76, died Friday, January 25, 2019, at the Golden Triangle Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. He was born in Hamilton, MS to Frank H. Cockerham, Sr. and Bessie Fairchild Cockerham. He was a life long resident of Monroe County. He graduated from Hamilton High School and from Mississippi State University with a degree in Accounting. He worked in Accounting and the Personnel Department at Kerr-McGee Chemical where he retired after thirty-seven years of service. He was a volunteer with the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi and also a member of the Lions Club. He was a member of the Hamilton Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Carolyn Wells Cockerham of Hamilton, MS; one daughter Lana Carol Cockerham of Hamilton, MS; two sons Joel Anthony Cockerham of Devens, MA and Kerry Lee Cockerham (Tracy) of Vernon, AL; a sister -in- law Pat Wells of Hamilton, MS; an aunt, Georgia Fairchild Fusco of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Charlotte Gail Cockerham and a brother- in- law Van Wells, Jr.
