Felix Jackson, Sr.

Felix Ray Jackson, Sr., 73, passed away at North Mississippi Medical Center on Friday, October 18, 2024. He was born in Monroe County on March 1, 1951, to John William and Iva Lee Griggs Jackson. In 1970, he graduated from Aberdeen High School and later married the former Annette McGarrh on October 1, 1971. He was employed with Dowdle Gas for 20 years, and later owned and operated Union 76 and Texaco Food Mart both in Aberdeen. Felix loved to work and considered his many customers as friends. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, working in his yard especially on his tractor, and he loved his family dearly.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Bro. George Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.

In addition to his wife of 53 years, Annette Jackson, he is survived by two sons, Felix R. Jackson, Jr., Aberdeen and John Luther Jackson (Daphne), Shannon; sisters, Virginia Faught, Mountain Home, AR, Joan Hoffer, Peoria, IL, Iva Mobley (Kenneth), Aberdeen, and Patsy McKee, Aberdeen; grandchildren, Taylor Woods (Wes), Jordan Jackson (Colleen), Cody Jackson, Emma Fowler (Blake), and Will Collins; great grandchildren, Viola Jackson, Talon Ray Jackson, Kennedy Woods, Collins “Steve” Fowler, Milly Blake Fowler, and Blazelee Ann Collins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Joe W. Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Cagle, Joey Jackson, Johnny Jackson, Donnie Mobely, Foster McKee, and Darrell McGarrh. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Faught, Mark Hoffer, Josh Davis, Shea Cain, and Kenneth McKee, Jr.

Visitation will be on Sunday afternoon from 2 until 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
