Evelyn Elders Holmes

Evelyn Elders Holmes, 84, died Sunday, March 29, 2020, at the Care Center of Aberdeen, MS. She was born January 16, 1936, in Laredo, TX, to Herbert Elders and Vera Young Elders. She had resided in Aberdeen for the past three years. Ms. Holmes was a self-employed truck driver. She was a Baptist.

She is survived by four sons Barry Schafer (Jan) of Hamilton, MS, Mike Williams (Beverly) of Port of Aransas, TX, Steve Williams (Shirley) of Perryton, TX, and Brian Schafer (Shelly) of Perryton, TX; one daughter Pat Williams Williamson (Malcolm) of Rising Star, TX; four step-children Donna Holmes of Pampa, TX, Mark Holmes of Azle, TX, Bobby Holmes (Lou Ann) of Azle, TX, and Carolyn Holmes Weir (Ricky) of Grandbury, TX; and a number of grand, great grand and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William (Bill) Holmes, two brothers Thurman Elders and Herbert (Herb) Elders and a step-daughter, Belinda Holmes Caviness.
