Elizabeth Ann McGarr

North Carolina- Elizabeth ("Liz") Ann McGarr, 91, passed away on April 22, 2024 in Greensboro, NC. She was born in Aberdeen,MS on August 20, 1932 to parents Charles Rushton Smith and Mary Young Smith. She graduated from MS State University for Women in 1954. She spent most of her adult life in North Carolina.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 9:00 am in the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen.

She is survived by her son Paul Rushton McGarr (Carin Marie Cutler) of Boulder, CO; daughter, Lee-Anne McGarr of Greensboro; her precious grandchildren, Vaeda McGarr, Smith McGarr, Sarah McGarr, Allie McGarr, Rowland McGarr, and Aiden McGarr; her brother Charles Smith Jr;, of Aberdeen, MS; nephews, Charles Smith III, Dale Smith, Paul Smith, nieces, Mary Harris Miller, Charlotte McGarr, two great grandchildren, four great nieces and four great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years Paul Rowland McGarr, her sister, Charlotte Smith Harris, brother in law James Edward Harris, an infant son and her grandson Zachary Walker McGarr.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Liz's memory to the American Heart Association.
