Elaine Dobbs

Martha Elaine Irvin Dobbs, 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point.  She was born December 31, 1936 in Aberdeen to the late Ogden Irvin and Miriam Egger Wilson. Elaine was a graduate of Hamilton High School and also a graduate of Vaughn’s Beauty College.  She married the late Preston Dobbs in 1954.  Elaine’s career as a hairdresser would span nearly 60 years and several generations of clients.  She loved her beauty shop but loved her clients even more.  In her free time, she enjoyed working in her yard and gardening. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Preston.  She was a faithful member of Hamilton Friendship Church and she enjoyed worshipping with her church members each week.  Her family meant the world to her and she enjoyed every moment with them, especially her grandchildren.

Elaine is survived by her sons, Danny Dobbs, Benny Dobbs (Vicki) and Scott Dobbs (Lisa), all of Hamilton; sister, Betty Robinson (Bo), Hamilton; grandchildren, Adam Dobbs (Debbie Jean), Payton Dobbs (B.B.), Hallie Bishop (Austin), Scottie Swan (Drew) and Anna Baty (Allen); great grandchildren, Daniel Dobbs, Brayden Dillworth, Paxton Dobbs, Preslee Dobbs, Wylder Swan and Ivy Baty; a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and Husband, George Preston Dobbs.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Hamilton Friendship Church with Rev. Roger McGrew officiating.  Burial will follow in Hamilton Friendship Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Drew Swan, Allen Baty, Daniel Dobbs, Brayden Dillworth, Paxton Dobbs and Austin Bishop.  Honorary pallbearers will be Payton Dobbs and Adam Dobbs.

Visitation will be prior to the service at the church from 11 AM until 12:45 PM.
