Aberdeen- Doris Juanita Wheeler, 91, passed away on Monday March 18, 2024 at the NMMC in Tupelo. She was born on December 30, 1932 in Mississippi to parents Walter Coleman Mobley and Viola Baugh Mobley. She worked hard and raised five children. She planned and saved all year long to give them the best Christmas she could by shopping from Finger Hut and Sears. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Doris had worked several years
in the garment industry but had retired as the first woman dispatcher for the MS Forrestry Commision. Her hobbies included reading, crocheting, puzzles and computer games.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Lebanon Cemetery in Aberdeen, MS with Ray Ingulia officiating. Pallbearers will be DeWayne Beaty, Jason Conard, Jerry Belue, Brian Bowen, Tony Toler, Kenneth Toler and Johnathan Toler. Honorary pallbearers will be Coleman Bowen and Jaxson Beaty.
Doris is survived by her children, Sharon Bowen of Caledonia, MS; LaDonna Conard of Long Beach, CA; Roger Conard of Hamilton, MS; Michelle Wheeler of Hamilton, MS; Robbie Wheeler of Aberdeen, MS; grandchildren, Brian Bowen, Jason Conard, Lauren Beaty (DeWayne), Lindsey Terrell, great grandchildren, Khloee, Alexis, Coleman, Zoey, Jaxson, brothers, Buddy (Hazel) Mobley of Darrocott; Kenneth (Iva Jean) Mobley of Darrocott; Bob (Mary) Mobley of Cleveland MS; and one sister, Betty Pennington of Columbus, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Leroy Mobley.
