Doris Malone Holman

Doris Bryan Malone Holman, 93, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Monroe Regional Hospital in Aberdeen.  She was born June 17, 1929 in Hamilton to the late William Cleavy and Celia Smith Malone. Doris was a graduate of Hamilton High School, Class of 1947.  She was also the last living member of her class.  Doris married Richard B. Holman on February 16, 1948.  She worked for over 30 years at the Base Exchange at the Columbus Air Force Base before retiring.  Doris had a profound love for the Lord and was a longtime faithful member of Center Hill Baptist Church in Hamilton where she enjoyed being a part of the Young at Heart Club.  In her free time she enjoyed reading and playing dominoes.  Doris was well known in the community by her Easter hats and strawberry cake.  More than anything, she enjoyed being with her family.

 

Doris is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Coleman (Joel), Hamilton; son, William Holman (Debbie), Amory; daughter in law, Vickie Holman, Hamilton; grandchildren, Tanya Collum (Dennis), Hamilton, Josh Coleman (Nina), West Point, Holly Moffett, Amory, Heather Jones, Amory, Spencer Holman (Ann), Cleveland, MS; great grandchildren, Brodie and Ean Collum, Hamilton; Cody Ellis (Maggie), Amory, Chet Moffett, Amory, Ace Jones, Amory, Hayes and Reed Holman, Cleveland, MS; great great grandchild, Walker Ellis, Amory; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard B. Holman;  son, Mike Holman; sisters, Nelda Pickle and  her twin sister, Velda Malone that died shortly after birth.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Tisdale Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Dr. James Towery officiating and assisted by Bro. Terry Edwards.  Burial will follow in New Prospect Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Brodie Collum, Ean Collum, Cody Ellis, Chet Moffett, Hayes Holman, Reed Holman and Tracy Pickle.  Honorary pallbearers will Ace Jones, Walker Ellis and the member of The Young at Heart at Center Hill Baptist Church.

 

Visitation will be prior to the service on Saturday from noon until 1:45 PM.

 

Donations may be given to The Baptist Children’s Village, PO Box 29 Clinton, MS 39060-0027.
