Doris Maria Causey

Nettleton- Doris Maria (Cook) Causey, 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at the NMMC-Tupelo. She was born on August 25, 1935 in Monroe County to Charlie Cook and Bunia (Henson) Cook. She was a lifelong resident of Nettleton. She retired from Futorian Manufacturing. She was a member of Nettleton Pentecostal Church. Doris was lovingly known as "Do Doll" by her family. She loved reading, square dancing of which she and her husband were members of the Nettleton Tornados Square Dance Group. She also enjoyed attending horse shows with her husband and daughter. Doris also served as secretary for the Tombigbee Saddle Club and volunteered at the Nettleton Food Pantry. She loved playing with her grand fur-babies Kylie, Hobo and Smokey.

Services will be Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Nettleton Pentecostal Church with Rev. Larry Davis and Rev. Jordan Davis officiating. Burial will be in Shannon Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Nettleton will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be at the church prior to service from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Survivors include one daughter Sherrie Causey Lofton of Tupelo; two step-granddaughters, Amy Hurley of Nettleton; Ashley Cole Byrd of Starkville and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 35 years, Charles Causey, five brothers Virgil Cool, Olen Cook, Arlen Cook, Merle Cook, Ruben Cook, two sisters, Minnie Wesson and Mary Corin Cook.
