Dora Rye

Dora Mae Woods Rye, 94, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Riverplace Nursing Home in Amory.  She was born on November 19, 1928, in Smithville to Rufus and Lockie Irene Mattison Woods.  She worked in the area garment plants and was proud to have worked with Seminole Manufacturing for nearly 50 years prior to her retirement.  She was a member of the Hamilton Presbyterian Church, and she was the widow of Giles Rye.  

A private family service will be held at a later date.

She is survived by one son, Bryan Rye of Hamilton; 3 daughters, Dorothy Consalvi of Hamilton, Linda Whitaker of Amory, and Mary Ann Jimenez of Richardson, TX; one brother, Grafton Woods of Hamilton, MS; one sister, Margie Woods Griggs of Hamilton; 8 grandchildren, Darrin Consalvi, Michelle Consalvi, Christina Consalvi, Leigh Anne Greggs, Stephen Dennis, Angelica Tindol, Alicia Boyd, and Guillermo “JJ” Jimenez, Jr.; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Giles Rye; 3 brothers, George, Tom, and Leon Woods; and sister, Pauline Woods.
