Donald Joe Hall

Donald Joe Hall, 71, of Nettleton, MS passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at the NMMC  in Tupelo, MS  after an extended illness. He was born on March 26, 1952 to the late Marvin "Pete" and Sula Hall of Nettleton. He was the 9th of 10 children, Joe was the son of a sharecropper and picked cotton alongside his brothers and sisters. He graduated from Nettleton High School and was  a Tiger football team member. After graduation he became a painter and worked for Cook and Coggin until he received his CDL's and became a long haul truck driver for H&H of Okolona, MS. Joe hauled furniture all over the northern states. He met his wife of 29 years, Ellen, on the road of course she then traveled with him for several years until he retired. Joe and Ellen's favorite pastime was to attend the CMA Music Festival each year in Nashville, TN. Joe loved country music, Ellen and his family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with Bro. Clinton Worthey officiating. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery.

Joe is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ellen Hall of Nettleton, MS; three sons, Clyde Hall of Tupelo, MS;  Jonathan Hall (Holly) of Walls, MS; Randy Langenfeld (Cindy) of Palm Beach Garden, FL; three daughters, Amanda Hall Gonzalez (Ubiel) of Horn Lake, MS Kristen Dumont (Bill) of Melrose, MA; and  Katherine O'Connor of Southaven, MS; 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren,  two sisters, Sarah Hall Fowler of Nettleton, MS; Annie Hall Allred of Tupelo, MS; two brothers, John Charles Hall (Peggy) of Nettleton, MS; Tommy Hall (Geneva) of Nettleton, MS as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Earl Hall, Robert Hall, James "Popcorn" Hall , Roger Hall and one sister, Florence Hall Oswalt.

Visitation will be held from 12:00  noon until service time at the funeral home.
