Nettleton- Donald Bowden Crawley, 84, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Diversicare Nursing Home in Tupelo. He was born in Arkansas on August 11, 1939 to parents C.D. Crawley and Mildred (Jackson) Crawley. He was a lifelong resident of the Nettleton area. Donald never let his handicap slow him down, with his work as a painter and in law enforcement. He seemed to know everyone, and served his community by being elected for two terms as Monroe County 5th District Constable. He worked several years for the Nettleton Police Department. He was also known as the "Junk Man" as he enjoyed yard sales and trade days. He also loved to watch sports on television and watch his grand kids play ball. At the age of 84 he was baptized and became a Christian.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with Bro. Norman Maranto officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home.
He is survived by two sons, Ricky Crawley (Derrinda) of Texas; Brad Crawley (Nancy) of Plantersville; one daughter, Phyllis Wright (Greg) of Alabama; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, one brother, Horace Crawly of Arkansas; one sister, Kathi Langford of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Margaret, and one grandson Conner Kade Crawley.
His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
