Don G. Holloway, 76, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus. Born on August 20, 1948, in Aberdeen, he was a son to the late Delmer and Nancy Cummings Holloway. He resided in Hamilton and was a 1969 graduate of Hamilton High School, and a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion Post #26 in Aberdeen. He worked for several years at Mitchell Engineering constructing metal buildings. He was a self-employed farmer, Holloway Farms.
Loving life and living it to its fullest, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, drag racing, hunting, and camping. He was always a friend to everyone and had a contagious smile. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved and were blessed to know him. He was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Center Hill Baptist Church with Bro. James Towery and Bro. Dennis Smithey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
He leaves his wife of 45 years, Rita Ann Holloway; daughters, Kelli Ann Holloway Honnoll (Thomas), Caledonia and Tina Holloway Vega (Raymond), Sumrall; sisters, Exie Motes, Joyce Simmons, and Kathy Smith (Keith); brothers, Billy Joe Holloway, James Edward Holloway (Joyce), Eugene Holloway, Danny Holloway (Patricia) and Mike Holloway; grandchildren, Blakely Honnoll, Weston Honnoll, Raychel Vega Sullivan, and Leann Vega Thrash, and great grandson, Phoenix Vega-Sullivan. He also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, J.P. Holloway and sister, Eva Nell Holloway Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Holloway, Danny Holloway, Mike Holloway, Tyler Kilgore, Tim Nolen, and James Holloway. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Joe Holloway, Matt and Chad Holloway, Robert Lucas, and Greg Mixon.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 9 until the service hour at the church.
Memorials may be made to the American Legion, Aberdeen Post #26.
