Cheryl Tipton

Cheryl Collins Tipton, 59, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus. Born in Chicago, IL on July 12, 1965, she was a daughter to Dwayne and Marianne Andrejko Collins. A graduate of Hamilton High School, she married Mark Tipton on March 15, 1996. Cheryl worked as a civil engineer at Columbus Air Force Base, and she was a faithful member of Hamilton Church of Christ. She was a fan of anything Ole Miss, and with a strong will, she met her challenges with great courage but her greatest passion was for her family. 

 Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Minister Tim Wilson officiating. Angela Wilson will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery in Greenwood Springs. 

To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her husband of 28 years, Mark Tipton; two sons, Mark Tipton, Jr. (Elizabeth), and Stone Tipton both of Hamilton; her daughter, Tiffany Hayes (SFC Benjamen), Hindsville, GA; two brothers, Michael Collins of Booneville and Steven Collins of Baldwyn; granddaughter, Savannah Riley Hayes; her lifelong best friend, Carol Streukens (John), Canada; aunt, Jean Collins (Ed); Denise Thomas (Brad); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and brothers and sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by a sister, Donna Hayes.

Pallbearers will be Mark Tipton, Jr., Stone Tipton, Michael Collins, Tony Tipton, Austin Bishop, and Collins Finch. Honorary pallbearers will be Benjamen Hayes, Jacob Smith, and Steven Collins.

 Visitation will be on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
