Charles Austin Pounders, 86, died Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. He was born in Sulligent, AL. on December 14, 1932, to Daniel Morgan Pounders and Della Smith Pounders. He had lived in Aberdeen since 2001. Mr. Pounders was the owner of Sales and Services. He was a member of the Aberdeen Golf and Country Club and a member of the Men’s Association. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and the National Guard. Mr. Pounders attended the Aberdeen First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife Jean Pounders of Aberdeen, MS; four daughters Debbie, Suzie, Sandra and Pam; two step-daughters Sherri and Karen; two sisters Garah Redditt (J. W.) of Tupelo, MS and Linda Barham (Duke) of Oklahoma; one brother Dea Pounders (Doris) of Aberdeen, MS; nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Allene Head, Willene Gilliland and Enzian Ellis, two brothers Samuel Pounders and Kenneth Pounders, one daughter Nolia Jean and one son Charles Paul and one step-grandchild.
