Carroll Allen Gray, 76, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center—Gilmore in Amory. He was born on December 20, 1947 in Itawamba County to Porter and Lorene Ross Gray. Carroll attended school in Dorsey and before retiring, he worked at several automobile repair shops in the area. He was a great mechanic and could fix about anything, but in his free time, he loved playing the guitar and singing and played the old classics of George Jones, Hank Williams, Willie Nelson and the like. He loved his family and his family loved him.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the Nettleton Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Sammy Raper officiating. Burial will follow in the Wiygul Cemetery.
He is survived by one son, Brad Gray; three brothers, Thomas Gray, Amory, Jimmy Gray (Debbie), Nettleton, and Russell Gray, Amory; sisters, Lessie Beard, Beaverton, AL, Shirley Waycaster, Nettleton, Jessie Smith, Columbus, and Linda Hester (Carl), Shannon; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; and two sisters, Dotsey Hamlett and Betty Jean Gray.
Pallbearers will be Chris Smith, Tracey Allen, Jason Engle, Shelby Gray, and Michael Gray.
Visitation will be from 1 until the service hour on Tuesday at the funeral home.
