Brenda Joyce Ivy Holcomb

Brenda Joyce Ivy Holcomb, 75, of the Palmetto Community passed away August 1, 2023, at her residence. She was born on March 8, 1948, to Cecil and Lois Ivy. Brenda was a graduate of Shannon High School and a lifelong resident of Lee County, where she also worked in the Medical Records Department as a clerk at North Mississippi Medical Center for 40 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed working with flowers in her yard and playing Bunco with her friends. She was a member of Palmetto Baptist Church, and she loved her church family very much.  

Brenda is survived by her sisters, Pam Ivy Gardner (Danny Jo) of the Palmetto Community, Linda Faye Nanney of the Palmetto Community; one brother, Eugene “Bud” Ivy (Grace) of Mooresbury, TN; Brother-in-law, Rex Thompson of Nettleton; Sister-in-law, Anne Thompson Ivy of the Palmetto Community, Betty Jo Westmoreland of Tupelo; Special great nephew, Miller Reed Gardner; Special great niece, Carly Jo Gardner.  

In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by her brother, Cecil Ivy Jr., Brother-in-law Travis Nanney, Sister-in-law Janet Ruth Thompson, Mother-in-law Elsie Holcomb, Father-in-law Burdell Holcomb, and Husband James Buddy Holcomb. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday August 4, 2023, at Tisdale Lann Memorial in Nettleton with Bro. Jimmy Webb and Bro. James Marks officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be prior to the service on Friday from 12-1:45 p.m. Pallbearers will be Ralph Lesley, Paul Brown, Sam Holland, Michael Gardner, Rickey Marshall, and Roger McCormick.
