Boyd Ray Boland, Sr.

Boyd Ray Boland, Sr., 82, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory after an extended illness. He was born August 23, 1936, in Calhoun County to Ira Eugene Boland Sr. and Ida Bell (Hubbard) Boland. He lived most of his life in Nettleton and was a Baptist. He worked at Tecumseh Products and retired after 19 years of employment. He enjoyed watching sports, collecting antiques, and being with family. Survivors include his sons, Boyd Boland Jr. (Kathy) of Nettleton, Keith Boland (Shelia) of Nettleton, Pee Wee Boland (Loretta) of Tupelo; one daughter, Lyn Stryker of Las Cruces, New Mexico; his grandchildren, Derrik, Jami (Katie), Blayze, Kara, Russell, Randy and Andrew; six great-grandchildren; his sisters, Elaine Patterson of Calhoun City, and Gwen Goodson (Jimmy) of Big Creek community; A host of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ronnie Fowler. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Glenda (Davis) Boland one sister, two brothers and one granddaughter, Molly Boland.
