Billy Gene Parker, Sr

Nettleton-Billy Gene Parker, Sr., 70, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the NMMC-Tupelo. He was born on June 16, 1954 in Monroe County, MS to parents Johnny Parker and Cora (Morris) Parker. He was a lifelong resident of the Nettleton area. He had worked as a carpenter. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and watching sports. He was an avid Ole Miss Rebel fan. 

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 2 pm in the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Nettleton with Bro. Danny Estes officiating. He will be buried on his own home place.

Visitation will be at the funeral home prior to service from 12-2 pm. 

Billy is survived by his wife, Lavaughndra Parker, 4 sons, John Rico Parker, James Matthew Parker, Billy Gene Parker, Jr., James Wright, one daughter, Brandi Elizabeth McDaniel, one step-daughter, Samantha Estes, 10 grandchildren, 2 brothers, Steve Parker, Allen Pruitt, 2 sisters, Rachel Holland and Mary Ruth Dees.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Joe Pruitt.

Pallbearers will be Stevie Shackelford, Payne McDaniel, Gabriel Parker, James Holloway, Mark Hendrix, David Randolph, Bryan Sullivan and Jay Christian.
