AMORY/NETTLETON – Billy Joe Cook, 74, died Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Diversicare of Amory after an extended illness. He was born on December 23, 1943 in Nettleton to Charles Olen and Alma Gertrude Hill Cook. He was a native of Nettleton, a retired lead man at Day Brite Lighting in Tupelo, & was a Pentecostal. He loved to play music and going fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Franklin Latain Vose Cook of Amory; three daughters, Melinda Peters of Nettleton, Tammy Stanley (Tony) of Brandon, & Renay Tate (Tony) of Amory; two sons, Joseph “Sonny” Cook (Heather) of Tiplersville and Matthew Cook of Iuka; two step sons, Kirby Turner and Donnie Turner (Wendy), both of Mantachie; one brother, James Cook (Martha) of Olive Branch; two aunts, Doris Cook Causey and Minnie Cook Wesson, both of Nettleton; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; & one son, Joe Allen Cook.
Pallbearers will be Terry Parker, Tony Priest, Steven Guspan, Donald Roper, Bryan Guspan, Jeffrey Tate. Visitation will be Saturday from 12 Noon until time for services, at the funeral home.
