Bentley Wilson Luker, 17 months old, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis. Bentley was born in Columbus on November 19, 2022 to Leon and Aleigha Schrock Luker. At 8 days old, Bentley began the fight of his life. The next 17 months would hold great uncertaintity, with nearly 14 months of his life at LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis. Little did anyone know that Bentley's story would reach and touch so many lives across the South East United States. In the face of adversity, Bentley's smile and little boy personality would offer hope to so many. His family was blessed to have Bentley at home during Thanksgiving and Christmas of 2023. Although he was only home for nearly 4 months, he was very well a part of the Luker Family household. Bentley was a blessing to not only his family but to the many doctors, nurses and staff of LeBonheur that cared for him. It is amazing that a little boy, who only lived on this earth for 17 months, was able to bring hope, encouragement and cheer to so many people. Bentley wouldn't have anyone feel sorry for him, but rather celebrate his life and his testimony to the Goodness and Graciousness of God.
Bentley is survived by his parents, Leon and Aleigha Luker; his big sister, Sabrina Faith Luker; grandparents, Robert and Susan Luker of the Becker Athens Community and Jimmy and Elizabeth Schrock of Aberdeen; great grandfather, Tobias Luker of Virginia; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; all of the staff of LeBonheur Children's Hospital.
